Space North East exists because too many men in the North East are dealing with depression, loneliness and anxiety on their own.
Our mission
To create free, welcoming spaces where men in the North East can find hope, purpose and community — and to make asking for help an ordinary thing to do.
Our vision
A region where no man has to reach crisis point before anyone notices, and where support is something he walks into rather than waits for.
Our values
Come as you are
No referral, no assessment, no waiting list. If you turn up, you are in.
Nobody is a case
The men who come to us are members, not service users. Several now run the groups they first walked into.
Say it plainly
We do not use language that makes people feel spoken down to.
Free, and staying free
Everything we run for men is free at the point of use, and we intend to keep it that way.
Know our limits
We are not a clinical service. We say so, and we help people find the right one.
